Seinfeld openly dated a 17yo in the late 90’s even. One of my grammar school teachers was an open pedophile, and NO adults cared. The kids just all tried to avoid being the kid who caught his fancy the year you have him. They eventually did fire him much later in the late 90’s as the culture shifted, but this shit was tolerated to celebrated for at least like 16 years regionally.

There was actually a news story a few months back about how the cops had to let a 40 year old who met with and had sex with a 16 year old girl on the internet go much to the complaint of the father because as far as the state was concerned… the latter was legally an adult and could make her own sexual choices.
